Trailer and Horsebox Training Courses
There is no longer a test for B+E. We will still conduct Familirisation training (coupling, loading, reversing and on road) for those who request it. This can be certified for Company drivers.
All drivers who passed a car test before 1st January 1997 keep their existing entitlement to tow trailers until their licence runs out. This means they are generally entitled to drive a vehicle and trailer with a combined weight of up to 8.25 tonnes. They are also entitled to drive a minibus with a trailer weighing more than 750kg.
With a Fulll Cat B you are licensed to drive a vehicle in Cat B up to 3.5t towing a trailer within the rated towing capacity of the towing vehicle.
Government testing has stopped, until the inception date is released you can only tow within the restrictions applied to your current licence. Only when the date is released will you be able to tow to the full B+E.
